Awarded Project: 59th ICCA Congress
Due to COVID-19, international delegates were not able to attend the 59th ICCA Congress physically because of the worldwide travel restrictions. However, the hybrid event has still successfully showcased Kaohsiung’s culture, food and soul through innovative approach and technology. It was the first time in history that an ICCA Congress had so much impact on a local community of association and meeting professionals.
The opening ceremony was broadcasted live and reached nearly 7,000 viewers
With the use of hologram technology, the President of ICCA, James Reese, appeared on the stage next to the Mayor of Kaohsiung
Showcased the host city throughout the meeting program that included speakers from many industries, successful transformation stories, and local young talents
To engage meeting professionals around the world, 200 video clips were collected as a rallying cry for the business events industry to unite in the challenging times and interact with fellow colleagues across continents and timezones
A break-time program “ICCA Live from Kaohsiung” allowed virtual audience to learn about the local culture and meeting elements that the virtual audience normally cannot experience, like the food served during lunches and offsite events
A very own ICCA 2020 Kaohsiung song was created with a groundbreaking session “Connecting the World,” which connected the attendees in Kaohsiung and virtual participants through song-making
